Protecting Your Investment from the Weather!
If your property is vacant during the winter months, it’s recommended that you leave the thermostat at 60 degrees and also leave the faucets on at a light drip. This will help prevent any pipes from freezing. It’s also a good idea to open up any cabinet doors that enclose those pipes.
When it comes to some of your outdoor pipes, you can purchase foam coverings that also help insulate pipes to prevent freezing.
Finally….Don’t forget about your sprinker system! Although it might be too late now, it’s a good idea to shut off the water and drain the valves to prevent any leaks and broken pipes as a result of cold weather.
